In Board Scholarship Program

Want to help a rescue or shelter dog, but can't foster at your home?  Why not sponsor a dog for In Board Training at Teamworks?  This program can help make the dog more adoptable and will give the shelter or rescue group one more space for another needy dog.

    IN-BOARD TRAINING IS A GREAT WAY TO IMPROVE:

    • Leash manners
    • Table manners
    • Sit-Stay
    • Down-Stay
    • Come when called
    • Greet people without jumping up
    • Pass other dogs without over-reacting
    • Accepting grooming
    • Confidence building
    • Distraction training
    • Separation anxiety problems

IN-BOARD TRAINING IS A GREAT WAY TO
DEVELOP AND DEMONSTRATE:

    • Agility potential
    • Dock Diving / swimming potential
    • Therapy Dog potential

You (the sponsor):

  • Choose the dog to receive the scholarship

  • Work with the shelter or rescue to enable us to foster the dog

  • Donate the In-Board scholarship for the rescue dog

Teamworks:

  • Donates food for the dog for the duration of its stay
  • Trains and socializes the dog (See In Board Training program)
  • Makes videos of the dog's training sessions and publishes them online
  • Makes recommendations about the ideal home for the dog
  • Will set up appointments for potential adopters to meet the dog

PRE-REQUISITES:

  1. Dog should be at least 14 weeks of age. 

  2. Dog must be spayed or neutered before entering In Board program.

  3. Dog must be advertised and adopted out through rescue group or shelter.  (Teamworks will provide video of training for adoption purposes, but will not handle the actual adoption process.)

  4. Dog MUST have completed all vaccinations, including DHPP, rabies, and kennel cough.

  5. Dog must be on flea, tick, and heartworm preventative.

  6. Dog must not have any aggression issues towards people and should be comfortable being petted by strangers*.

  7. Dog should not bark, lunge, or growl at people.*

  8. Dog should not be aggressive towards other dogs.*

  9. Dog needs to go willingly into a crate*.

  10. Visits can be arranged by appointment only.
